Sunday, September 11, 2011 // 11:01 PM (edited) STC IS OVER!!! :( It all happened too fast for me :( I didn't really get to enjoy the process of the camp :( But still, I really really really enjoyed it. The point about camps, you always dread it a lot at first... but in the process of the camp, you make new friends, have lots of fun, and you really enjoy it :) Then when it ends, you dread the ending of it haha... So STC, I really had a lot of fun from it... I shall really write everything that has happened and add in what I feel about it I guess :) First day: We had to meet at Changi Ferry Terminal and then form up and get onto the boat. Was really high on the boat to mainly make myself have a positive mindset and not dread the camp. Besides being positive and really enthusiastic will help me feel better along the way :D Walked to the campsite and did a lot of songs and cheers on the way. Surprisingly, my voice could last quite long :) Haha then we did all the nitty gritty details such as taking temperature and then helped to take out the logistics such as food rations and tent logistics. I was helping to take all the food rations and stuff and helped to move them to the canteen. Quite a fun job to do :D Then we went to pitch tents in our own school and boy, there was so much confusion that I was getting myself really confused. A lot of people were not very sure how to tie the knots and even how to pitch a tent. Had to step out of comfort zone and lead these people to finish pitching the tents. Got to know my group which consisted of 16 people on the first day. Well since my memory is failing, I can't remember the majority of my group at this point in time. But never mind, had 2 other DHS people with me, as well as Jia Jia from my last year ATC group :D Oh and my group instructors were Brenban sir and Jeanette ma'am :D Haha got to bond a bit with the group then went for lunch.. After lunch, played a game of charades as well as forming a line in order of our birthday months... Then had a briefing about land expedition and we had to solve a clue before we could proceed on for Land ex. We managed to get our first clue which was _ _ _ _ _ _ (Woman + Fish = ? and the sound that the sheep makes) _ _ _ (Pizza ___) And the answer was Merbah hut. LOL Some people didn't know the sound that a sheep makes is "Bah" Apparently they don't know bah bah black sheep lol but never mind :) Headed out to our first destination without much referencing to the given map cos it was rather outdated and we couldn't locate the destination on it. Walked out to find the better map of Pulau Ubin. On the way had cheers but I can't really remember what happened for the cheers part. LOL and I remember calling the person holding the map as "Map guy" :P Haha sorry Yuhern... At least I remember your name after that and stopped calling you Map Guy. Walked to Merbah Hut and then to Sensory trail (which was our next clue but I don't really know how to show the clue here :/) Then had to walk back. Brenban sir tried to motivate us by saying if we reached there in a certain time, we would get bottled drinks :) Cold and sweet somemore :D Haha me and Jia Jia went crazy and chionged all the way back (literally) Though we did stop here and there to wait for the group. In the end we had to ask for many time extensions but reached in time with the help of the extensions :D WE HAD OUR 100 PLUS OK :D Haha then we had dinner I think? Then bathe time. Then had mock campfire. Was abit tired but still tried to be high :D Haha... Then debrief by group instructors. Had certain comments from them as well as comments from us... But mainly from DHS people lah lol. Then sleeeeep. For some reason I could sleep very well in this camp :D Second day: They had PT while I stoned at first aid post with Jia Jia. Being a casualty is sad. :( Then went breakfast and then started activity cycle. First was shelter building and fire starting. Well I got pissed off by stuff (Shant say here) but yea, I wasn't very enthu in those activities. :( But still had fun in a sense lah. A new experience I guess... Then played abit of games (HUMAN SCISSORS PAPER STONE :D) Was so fun LOL (LEFT LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT FRONT FRONT FRONT BACK BACK BACK SCISSORS PAPER STONE XD) Should do this as recreational in our unit :) Haha in the end the birthday boy Elton won lol. But he need do forfeit LOL. Then lunched. And got ready for IRC. Sadly, the instructor didn't let me go cos of my MC blehh :( but it rained halfway so all of them didn't go :( So we had a.... JOKE SESSION :P Haha. It was so epic funny. It was mainly Stephen, Dish and the CIs telling the jokes lol. Then had some time to do reflections then we changed into wet attire for WCJ :D But then the instructors dun let me jump :( Wah very sad sia :( But they let me get wet by splashing water at me :D haha then rushed back for bathing and eating dinner. Then CAMPFIREE~~ Me and Dish zi highed a bit at the actual site but then it rained so had to be indoor :( I got chosen for "I Ask my Love" with David HAHAHA i practically stoned there :/ Tried to zihigh but had a dampened mood cos of the rain :( Idk why my mood easily affected one... Then debrief by CIs. Chionged my reflections so could pass to them... CIs posted a question to us which I find good to think about lol. Had my answer on the spot but didn't want to say it out. Then debrief by DHS CIs. was really tired after everything. Just went to tent and sleep. Haha. Day 3: Last day of camp. Woke up feeling very dreary. Didn't want to leave the campsite. :( Haha so woke up, wash up, then fall in at foyer. Then Jia Jia leg pain so I followed her to first aid post and waited with her there for a while before one of the CIs told me to go back lol. Very funny though shan't say why :P Haha then clean up. Then mass debrief. But dk why this year no Best camper and no best group... :( Haiz, so sad :((( This year also never take photo... :( So sad... Anyways, gathered back into our schools and DHS people got zi high again :D Did warfront cheer but it was quite fail cos we missed out some lines :( Then wanted to do again but no time :( Haiz... So yea, we walked back to the jetty. Me and Dish helped to lead cheers but my voice was gonna die already so yea, volume not very loud... Quite disappointed about some stuff though... Then got onto boat, got out of boat, debrief by Shaun sir haha :) Shan't say what happened. Then bought ICE CREAM! the best reward you get after a camp X) Haha :D Shall post until here. A much more complete post already. All the not-supposed-to-be-here stuff is all taken out... Haha ask me if you must but I also may not tell you X) Haha bye |
